Hello Residents; Many of you will be aware there is a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place in Bolton relating to the consumption of Alcohol in Public Spaces.
The Alcohol PSPO enables Greater Manchester Police and any other authorised officer to challenge alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour in a public place. A Designated Public Protection Order (DPPO) was originally granted in 2012 and became a PSPO under the Anti-social behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The current PSPO was last renewed in 2023 and is due to expire on 20th October 2026. Bolton Council are now seeking to renew it for a further 3 years and would like feedback from the public and key stakeholders. Bolton Council would like to hear your views on extending the current Alcohol Public Space Protection Order (PSPO).
Please note this is NOT a Greater Manchester Police consultation but hosted by Bolton Council.
For further information about Bolton Council PSPOs in general, please see Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) – Bolton Council Website - https://www.bolton.gov.uk/community-safety-anti-social-behaviour/public-spaces-protection-orders-pspos?documentId=573&categoryId=20041
The proposed / draft order and the survey can be accessed by following the following link to the Bolton Council Website.
